Susan’s approach to counseling…
I believe in the importance of personal growth and that your thoughts impact both feelings and behaviors. When we work on your thinking, your feelings and behaviors will change.
The psychotherapy relationship is one that is based on trust and understanding, which is imperative for healing to take place. The nature of our relationship will be a collaborative one where you and I will work together to accomplish your goals.
I use an integrated counseling approach that combines Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) with Person Centered Counseling. Our relationship is based on unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence.

M.A. in Counseling, LMFT, EMDR & EFT Trained Therapist
I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) providing psychotherapy services for individuals and couples. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

As a former U.S. Army Reservist (1999-2009), who deployed for one year to the Horn of Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) for the Global War on Terrorism, I am passionate about working with veterans and veteran couples. During my graduate studies, I also trained with U.S. Army Chaplains from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 2009-2010, at the Family Life Center.

Carolina’s approach to counseling…
With couples, I work toward learning their unique dance – a view into how a couple interacts with one another. I help explore how they are emotionally impacted by their partner and how they in turn impact one another. There are positive as well as negative patterns to these interactions. Negative patterns have a way of chipping away at the bond and can further drive distress into the relationship when the pattern takes over.
I follow an empirically validated EFT roadmap developed by Dr. Sue Johnson. As a process consultant, and through the use of experiential exercises, I facilitate the development of new and healthier couple interactions. Through this process, attachment injuries that may have manifested during disconnect and distress, are also attended to. Altogether, the couple becomes more united and healthier adult bonds are strengthened.
With individual clients, I use my keen educated and trained sense of curiosity, which I implement as a way to learn their life’s story. I walk at their pace and help create space where change could enter. When fitting to their therapeutic goals, I listen for messages connected to the past, and help work toward healing unresolved from adverse childhood circumstances.
I help individuals notice how their physiology, emotions, thoughts, and belief systems offer signals into their present experiences. I aid individuals in accessing ways to bring calmness through relaxation exercises, mindfulness and insight.

Natalie’s approach to counseling…
“It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to, has power over you, if you allow it”. – Leon Brown
I believe in the significance of uncovering the strength of the mind to achieve living a purposeful life. More importantly, discovering the direct relation between thoughts, feelings/emotions, and behavior. Awareness of these connections allow for the shift in power of control of your life back into your hands!
I use a collaborative, strengths-based approach to assist in the creation of a path, unique to the individual. This path identifies core values and beliefs that act as blueprint for personal growth, in all areas of life.
When working with teens, I strive to create a space for empowerment. I believe it is important to feel confident enough to use voice as a vice to communicate thoughts and feelings. I help create a safe place to effectively communicate thoughts and emotions to strengthen relationships with family, partners, and peers.
I use an integrated therapeutic approach that incorporates, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Counseling and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques.

Lisa Kampwerth, TherapistKaty/Cinco Ranch(Katy/Cinco Ranch, Sugar Land)
Sugar Land
MSW, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, families, individuals and couples. Most of my clinical experience has been working with clients and their families who have suffered through various traumas, such as physical, sexual, and verbal abuse, and neglect.
I have helped clients with various behavioral issues, such as juvenile delinquency, conduct disorder, substance abuse, truancy, teen pregnancy, attachment issues and family conflict, and those who have struggled living with various types of mental health disorders.
I also have experience, both personally and professionally, in working with children living in foster care and with children placed in adoptive homes.
My most recent passion over the last few years has been helping couples heal from toxic interactions. An intimate relationship can be one of the biggest joys in life, but it can also serve to be one of the greatest sources of pain. Too many relationships become unhappy and unsuccessful because the couple never learned how to get unstuck.
I help couples identify areas of gridlock and explore each other’s perspectives, needs, fears and goals to reach a much deeper level of understanding. Most importantly, we work together to shed old communication patterns and replace them with healthier styles that allow for more openness and respect. The goal is to learn healthy habits that will lend itself to meeting individual needs and an overall more content relationship.
I am passionate when it comes to helping all types of clients, whether they are children, adolescents, families, couples or individuals, facilitate the change he or she desperately wants and deserves so one can live a more fulfilling life.
I work with children 5 years and older and have experience working with clients on a range of issues and life situations, including:

Lisa's approach to counseling...
My goal in therapy is to provide a safe place where there is unconditional positive regard and a nonjudgmental approach, so you can share your story and feel heard and understood.
I like to use an integrative approach that derives from Person Centered, Family Systems and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. I believe that therapy should be conducted within a person centered framework that helps facilitate personal growth and development, eliminates or mitigates feelings of distress, increases self-esteem and openness to experience, and enhances the client's understanding of him- or herself all in a non-judgmental way. Additionally, when working with families, my goal is to help family members improve communication, solve family problems, understand and handle special family situations, and create a better functioning home environment.
Foremost, the therapy I provide is very solution focused and involves the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which seeks to explore the client’s cognitive and behavioral constructs to identify unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaving and to implement positive and adaptive coping strategies.
I will use the therapeutic modality that is best suited for you and your presenting challenge. Each client is unique and therefor you should expect a tailored treatment plan that will provide the best possible solution to address the areas or behaviors they seek to change. I will challenge you at times and will stress the importance of homework and self-practice between sessions, all for your benefit. I will work in collaboration with you so that you are an instrumental part of your own therapy.

Nichole's approach to counseling...
I am a dedicated mental health counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate the twists and turns of life. Collaboration and empowerment are at the heart of my practice. Using a person-centered approach, I will strive to step into your shoes and see the world as you do. Together, we will identify patterns, make meaningful connections, and explore your thoughts and emotions.
For many client concerns, I utilize exercises, techniques, and coping skills that are rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am also incredibly passionate about working with trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, and survivors of intimate partner violence. While talk therapy alone can be beneficial, often a specialized approach can enhance our trauma-focused work. I have enjoyed utilizing Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Polyvagal Theory with numerous clients.
While these areas have been my primary focus, I maintain a flexible approach, remaining open to learning and adapting to new challenges that may arise during therapy sessions. I am eager to understand your unique experiences and look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. You don't have to handle life's challenges alone. If you are ready to step into the driver's seat and learn more about yourself, I encourage you to reach out. Let's embark on this journey together to uncover your true potential and achieve the goals that matter most to you.
