Is counseling right for me?

The decision to see a therapist is a personal one that only the client can decide is right for them. The type of therapy you choose depends on your specific situation. It is not uncommon for a client undergoing individual therapy to later decide they wish to have family members participate in a session.

A family in therapy may also decide to augment their sessions with individual therapy for one or more of its members. Your therapist will be there to help and support you when you need it.

For situations where a person has experienced some form of trauma, there are more advanced therapy techniques that may be beneficial such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
